Obituary

Paula Dean Hamilton Hill of Winchester, KY, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Baptist Healthcare, Lexington, KY, at the age of 79 years, 11 months, and 22 days. She was born Tuesday, September 5, 1939 at Matthew, KY, daughter of the late Sewell Wickliffe & Orpha Mae McGuire Hamilton.

She was united in marriage to Denzil Lee “Diddle” Hill. This union was blessed with three children, Deanna Leigh, Kelli Delayne, and Delynda Shayne. She was a retired principal for Crockett Elementary School. She was a Christian and a member of the Lacy Creek Church of Christ and attended Calvary Christian Church. She was a Charter Member of the Elkfork Order of Eastern Star Chapter #561. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Lee “Diddle” Hill and one granddaughter, McKenna Leigh Barton.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deanna Leigh Hill Barton of Winchester, KY, Kelli Delayne Hill of Winchester, KY, and Delynda Shayne Hill of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Macy Barton, Myles Barton, John Lawwill, and Wesley Lawwill; one great grandson, Greyson Neil Barton; one sister, Era Nell Brown of Rome, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 11 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Jimmy Adkins & Elder Tom Steele officiating. Burial to follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery, Lacy Creek, KY. Visitation from 5 -8 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: Myles Barton, John Lawwill, Wesley Lawwill, Mike Tobin, Wesley Ratliff, Justin White, Michael Williams, Alan Oldfield, and Shaun Dalton.

So sorry to hear of my late cousin’s passing. I had a very nice visit with her just two weeks ago and I will always cherish that time together. Although I did not see her much over the years, I always admired her for her good sense and spunk. She was every bit a McGuire, like her mother, and I have always been very proud of her. My sister Debbie and I send our deepest condolences to her family and will keep them in our thoughts and prayers. RIP Paula Dean.
