Joe M. Conley, Jr.

Joe M. Conley, Jr. of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at St. Claire Regional Hospital, Morehead, KY, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, & 18 days.  He was born Monday, October 25, 1937 at West Liberty, KY, son of Joe M. & Margaret Jane Smith Conley.

He was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Perkins and they spent 63 wonderful years together.  Joe was a retired truck driver hauling lumber for many years.  He was a Christian and a member of the Wells Chapel Church of God.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Margaret Jane Conley and two children, Louise Keeton and Lawrence Conley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Margaret Conley; children, Michael Coyle, Sheila Bailey both of Georgetown, KY, Charles R. Conley of Booneville, MS, Maggie Prater (Norman) of Cannel City, KY, Peggy Conley of West Liberty, KY, Faye Conley of Franklin, OH, and Pauline Walter (Wade) of Grassy Creek, KY; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Hubert Conley of Hazel Green, KY.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Pat Hoskins officiating.  Burial to follow in the Conley Cemetery, Junior Conley Road, Grassy Creek, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers:  Norman Prater, Wade Walter, Sam Prater, Christopher Prater, Brandon Conley, and Cameron Conley.
