Obituary

Lois Louise Phipps of Buskirk, KY, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 64 years, 4 months, and 18 days. She was born Wednesday, July 28, 1954, at West Liberty, KY, daughter of Louise Nickell Hatton and the late Thaddeus Hatton.

Lois was united in marriage to Clark Phipps. This union was blessed with one son, Leroy Phipps. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all her family and friends. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and attended Grassy Lick Baptist Church. She loved spending time working in her flower gardens and loved spending time caring for her two little dogs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Phipps; her father, Thaddeus Hatton; one sister, Clydia Carpenter; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy & Ruby Phipps; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doyle and Lois Lainhart.

She is survived by one son, Leroy & Austina Phipps of Buskirk, KY; one granddaughter, Tinley Jade; one grandson, Bentley Clark; her mother, Louise Hatton of West Liberty, KY; one sister, Pamela & Elza Phipps of Buskirk, KY; two brothers, Wayne Hatton of Campton, KY and Willie Hatton of West Liberty, KY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phillip & JoAnn Phipps of Buskirk, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Rick Pelfrey officiating. Burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery, Buskirk, KY. Visitation after 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018.

Pallbearers: Bobby Perkins, Nicholas Phipps, David Lynn Phipps, Joe Hinton, Leroy Phipps, Brian Munn, and Larry Fallen.

Leroy and Austina, We are so sorry to hear about your dear mother. I recall that when I worked for the census, your dad had recently passed away. The day that I saw her, she was grieving. I lent a listening ear and gave her a hug as I was leaving. That has come to mind numerous times through the years. May God bless and comfort you and all of your family.
