Roger Wayne Watson

Roger Wayne Watson of Mize, KY, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at his residence, at the age of 59 years, 11 months, & 9 days.  He was born Wednesday, March 18, 1964 at Grassy Creek, KY, son of Ottis & Opal Warner Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis & Opal Watson; five brothers, Alvin Watson, Ernie Watson, Willie Watson, Elroy Watson, and Melford Watson; and two sisters, Joyce Roberts and Linda Phillips.

He is survived by a special nephew and niece, Steve and Leann Watson of Ezel, KY; a special nephew, Roger Lee Shadley of Hazel Green, KY; two brothers, Larry Jay Watson (Judy) of West Liberty, KY and Calvin Watson (Marsha) of Wrigley, KY; three sisters, Shirley Carnahan (Jerry) of Indiana, Gloria Kay Gorman of Ohio, and Henrietta Peyton of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.

With the utmost humility and kindness, Roger left an indelible mark on countless lives through his warmth and loving heart.  His generosity and compassion towards others, earned him the affection and admiration of many.  He prioritized others needs above his own, showcasing selflessness and boundless love. 

Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. James Hinton officiating.  Burial to follow in the Hager & Watson Cemetery, Ezel, KY.  Visitation from 6 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers:  James Tyler Fugate, Cody Peyton, Lane Peyton, Ricky Watson, Eric Endicott, and Larry Watson.
