Belva Helton Obituary

Belva Mae Wright Helton,92, was born on November 30, 1931 to the late Phillip and Rebecca Cantrell Wright.  She went to her Heavenly home on Sunday, March 3, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was married to the late Arnold Helton.  Their union was blessed with four children, Donnie, Debbie, Robert and Jennifer.

She is survived by her children, Debra and Ricky Muse of Wallingford, KY; Robert and Valerie Helton of West Liberty, KY; Jennifer and Kenny Keeton of Winchester, KY; daughter-in-law Deborah Ann Haney Helton of West Liberty, KY; grandchildren Nikki and Brandon Overley, Ricky Muse, Tanisha and Jeremy Bowen, Aaron and Mary Keeton, Nathan Keeton and Meghan Luetke; great grandchildren Tyler Perry, Jasmine Muse, Kyle Muse, Jillian Perry, Braydon Overley, Oliva Bowen, Annistyn Bowen, Madelyn Overley, and Tatum Keeton.  She is survived by her siblings Birdie Laughman, Blanche Howard, Burton Wright, Goldie Combs, Christine and Joe Cantrell, Patty and Larry Helton, and her sister-in-law Joyce Wright.  She is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and special loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Helton, son Donald Helton, grandchildren Robbie Helton and Melissa Perry, her parents, siblings: Reuben Wright, Bertha Williams, Virgil Wright, and Judy Harris,  sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: John Howard, Doug Combs, Virgil Williams, Ron Laughmann, Ruby Wright and Betty Wright.

Belva was well known for being a wonderful cook, Her peanut butter fudge, crispy butter cookies, peach bread, and butterscotch or chocolate pies were wonderful. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and special Nana to lots of kids in Morgan County and a wonderful friend to all who had the privelege to meet her. She was a faithful Christian of the lord and a member of the Wells Union Baptist Church. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 6th, 5-9 PM at Broadway First Church of God.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7th, at 1 PM at Broadway First Church of God with Rev. Karl Elam leading the service. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband in the Neal Valley Cemetery on Wells Hill with Rev. Jimmie Tharp leading that service.  Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include: Jon Allen, Joe Allen, Ricky Muse, Kyle Muse, Aaron Keeton, Nathan Keeton, Jeremy Bowen, Brandon Overley, and Braydon Overley.

The family would like to thank her wonderful and devoted caregivers, Betty Vance, Erica Porter, and Lucy Romans.  They would also like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the Hospice Care Team: Mark Combs, Christina Neace, Jenna Land, Crystal Cundiff and Rebecca Noble.
