Don was a truly remarkable person! He and Valerie are among my blessings I've been graced with during my transplant journey. To say Don will be missed at the UK Lung Transplant Center is a vast understatement. He was able to express his own transplant journey, using the most colorful language, in a way that we could all relate. He left no doubt as to how much he loved life, his family, and his friends.
Valerie, you are a part of us and always will be. Sending you and your family love and sympathy. -Jackie De Prima

Don Walker was a force for good. When first I met him, at UK Chandler, I knew his presence in our lung tx support group was already making a difference for the good of all. He was always bright as a new penny, ready with a positive comment and strongly supportive of the least of us. He was an Angel and we all will miss him dearly. I hope that someone warned St. Peter that he was coming.
He was brave, sensitive and caring.
