Joseph “Joe” Allen Mays of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 in West Liberty, at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 12 days. He was born Saturday, April 17, 1954, at West Liberty, KY, son of the late J.B. & Mildred Ferguson Mays.

Joe was united in marriage to Vera Stacy Mays. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator and was a Christian. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Stacy Mays; one brother, James Edward Mays; and one sister, Lois Marie Mays.

He is survived by two children, Tonya & Robert Kidd and Tim & Sara Mays all of West Liberty, KY; five grandchildren, Ryan Kidd, Jordan Kidd, Reagan Kidd, Braydon Mays, and Kaitlyn Mays; three brothers, Jerry & Lois Mays of West Liberty, John B. Jr. & Cheryl Mays of LaGrange, KY, Jeff & Charlene Mays of Salyersville, KY; five sisters, Linda Callahan, Marilyn & Dan Keeton all of West Liberty, Brenda & Ed Weddle of Georgetown, KY, Mary & Robert Coffee, and Karen & Billy Roseberry all of West Liberty; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Karl Elam & Bro. David Hinton officiating. Burial to follow in the Mays Family Cemetery, Centerville Road, West Liberty, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Todd Keeton, Kevin Mays, Jason Coffee, Danny Cross, Jeff Willoughby, and Ignacio "Nacho" Rocha Vieyra.

Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Coffee, Ed Weddle, Mike Stacy, and Dan Keeton.
