Earl was a simple man, who enjoyed and loved the simple things in life. He liked nothing more than being with his family, and he showed this by visiting with them often. He knew well the roads that led to Lima and Tennessee, and all the ones in between. He loved traveling, making special memories on trips to Florida and California. Earl especially loved four-wheeling, spending many beautiful days on trails in the hills he loved with family he loved even more.
Earl was a general laborer working on farms. He was a Christian and a member of the Fritz Church of God. He was known throughout the community for his kind and generous nature, and he faithfully helped care for his mother for many years. He gave many a ride to neighbors, and friends, coming to the aid of any that called. He was always willing to help, and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, George Salyers, Melvin Salyers, Jim Salyers, Donald Salyers, and Lula “Blue” Gibson.
He is survived by five brothers and one sister, Leo & Vivian Salyers, Bill & Lisa Salyers all of Lima, OH, Raymond “P.J.” Salyers of Williamstown, KY, Drexel Salyers, John Salyers, both of Hazel Green, KY, and Margie & Vernon Elam of Cannel City, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
