Virgil Short of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his residence, at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 20 days. He was born Sunday, September 11, 1938, at West Liberty, KY, son of the late William & Venus Helton Short.

Virgil was united in marriage to Roberta Fannin. This union was blessed with three children, Gina, Kimberly, and Lisa. He was a retired Roofer. He served his country in United States Army in the 1950’s.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Earl Short, Catherine Odeguard, Kenneth Short, Edward Short, and Ruth Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta Fannin Short; three daughters Gina & Clayborn Lewis of West Liberty, KY, Kimberly Howard & Luke Fizer of Paris, KY, and Lisa & Kyle Stevens of Grayson, KY; nine grandchildren, Alicia & Tommy Walter, Amber & Wes Watkins, Ashley Munnich & Brian Roberts, Noel Howard, Lindsey Howard, Logan Howard, Avery Howard, Abbey Stevens, and Macie Stevens; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Hershell “Pete” & Suzane Short of Georgetown, OH; and two sisters, Treva & Roger Adams of Franklin, OH and Helen & Greg Alty of Ocala, FL.

A memorial service to be scheduled at a later date.
