Dorothy Jean Bush Elam of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 13 days. She was born Sunday, August 26, 1934, at Trent, KY, daughter of the late Courtney & Gracie Lee Burse Bush.

She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Elam. This union was blessed with two children, Ricky and Pam. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Grassy Lick Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all her family and her friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jonathan Lykins, II; and twelve brothers and sisters, Charles Bush, Lilley Bush, William Bush, Pearl Matthews, Bessie Phillips, Viola Wilson, Alice Ball, Fern McCoy, Hazel Linkous, James Bush, Mableen Barker, and Betty Mayabb.
She is survived by her two children, Ricky & Elvira Mildred Elam of Grassy Creek, KY and Pam & Jon Lykins of West Liberty, KY; one granddaughter, Tabby & Tony Conley of Grassy Creek, KY; three great grandchildren, Kaleigh Conley, A.J. Conley, and Peyton Lykins; and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Grassy Lick Baptist Church, with Bro. Kenneth Gevedon & Bro. Jim Tyra officiating. Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation after 6 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Potter Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: A.J. Conley, Keith Barker, Courtney Barker, Jeremiah Terrill, Nolan Lirette, Jamie Barker, and William Barker.
