Obituary for Billy E. Gevedon
Billy E. Gevedon, 78, of Springfield, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born on September 1, 1939, in Morgan County, Kentucky, the son of the late Colonel Bruce and Ruby (Nickell) Gevedon.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Erma “Sue” Gevedon; daughter, Benita (Keith) Adrian; grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin (Tabitha) and Dylan Swinford as well as Andrew (Christina), Adam (Danielle), Alan and Austin (Melissa) Adrian; great-grandsons, Collin and Paxton Adrian and great-granddaughter on the way, Evelyn Swinford; sister, Elda Gabbard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phyllis Wells, Gay Stacy, Mike (Teresa) Stacy and Rex Haney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Anita Haney; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Tom Gabbard, Marjorie (Delmer) Reed, Walter Wells, David (Pat) Stacy and Danny Stacy. Billy worked numerous jobs as a pipe fitter before retiring from the VA Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He loved boating, Fishing, Hunting and especially loved spending time with his grandkids. Billy was also a proud Mason.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 3-4:45 with masonic service beginning at 4:45p.m. Service will begin at 5p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER, Springfield, OH. A second viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. with funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. at Grassy Lick Baptist Church in Grassy Creek, Kentucky, with Bro. Kenny Gevedon, Elder Jimmy Adkins, and Bro. Kevin Mays officiating. Masonic Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. by Greenville Lodge #655. Burial will follow at Grassy Lick Cemetery, with Potter Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
