Ima Jean Eldridge King of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 21 days. She was born Tuesday, July 11, 1939, in Lenox, KY, daughter of the late Ray & Hazel Caskey Eldridge.
Ima Jean was united in marriage to Darrell D. King on October 13, 1962, this union was blessed with one son, Jeffrey Darrell. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of the Pekin Pentecostal Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell D. King; one brother, Ray Eldridge, Jr.; and two sisters, Letha Nell Wilson and Betty Ruth Adkins.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Darrell & Rebecca King of Hazel Green, KY; one grandson, Zachary Taylor King & wife, Taylor of Texas; one granddaughter, Brittany Carol Whisman & husband, Jeffrey of West Liberty, KY; two great grandbabies to be born in November & December; one sister, Wanda Potter of West Liberty, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Harold Keeton & Rev. Greg Chaney officiating. Burial to follow in the Wilson – King Family Cemetery, Hwy 705, Buskirk, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at Potter Funeral Home.
