Elizabeth A. “Libby” Lewis Cordle of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 56 years, 6 months, and 12 days. She was born Thursday, November 9, 1961, at West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late Kenneth Paris & Rebecca Jewel “Cindy” Hackney Lewis.
Growing up, Libby worked as a farm helper with her mom and dad and was a fine tomato picker. After graduating high school, she went on to be a licensed cosmetologist, a certified nurse aide, and a certified child caregiver. One of her main goals in life was to love her only child. She was a Christian and attended the Glenn Ave Church of God. Libby had a zest for life and loved adventures. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one nephew, Kenneth Lewis; several aunts and uncles; special mother, Myrtle Osborne; special sister, Kay Hunt; and special brother, Ronnie Hunt.
She is survived by her daughter, Kendra Cordle of Lacy Creek, KY; her grandmother, Mary Flannery of Appalachia, VA; two sisters, Mary Lewis and Virginia Lewis both of Lacy Creek, KY; one brother & sister-in-law, Wayne & Angie Lewis of Lacy Creek, KY; nieces and nephews, Cindy Lewis, Jon Lewis, J.J. Holden, Greg Joseph, and Coleten Gamble; special sisters, Melissa Stacy, Kristie Loudermilk, Malissa Gamble, Bet Osborne (Marla), & Roseann Carpenter; special brother, John Hunt; several aunts & uncles; special sons, Eli Havens & Billy Pippen; special daughters, Emily Potter, Autumn Fulkerson, Alycia Lewis, Shelby Bolin and Allegra Cooper; and her special fur baby, Bella Marie.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Joe Conley and Rev. Jeff Farmer officiating. Burial to follow in the Dawson Cemetery, Lacy Creek, KY. Visitation 7 - 9 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018 and 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2018 at Potter Funeral Home.
