Victor G. Elam of West Liberty, KY, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the Wolfe County Nursing & Rehab Center, Campton, KY, at the age of 88 years, 9 months, and 15 days. He was born Friday, June 14, 1929, at West Liberty, KY, son of the late Ben & Cora Barker Elam.
Victor was united in marriage to Venus Barker Elam on February 21, 1947. This union was blessed with five children. Victor was a farmer and worked for the county and enjoyed fox hunting. He was a Christian and a member of the Grassy Lick Enterprise Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Venus Elam; one daughter, Betty Elam Poe; one brother, Charles Edward Elam; and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Elam.
He is survived by four children, Victor Charles Elam, Charlotte Dyer, Marie Peyton all of West Liberty, KY and Kathy & Ralph Kidd of Mize, KY; one son-in-law, Roy Poe of West Liberty, KY; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Eunice New of Ohio and Dorothy Elam of West Liberty, KY; several nieces, nephews and friends; and a very special friend, Joseph Smith.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Kenny Gevedon officiating. Burial to follow at the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home.
