Leona (Lewis) Osborne

Leona Lewis Osborne of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at her residence, at the age of 87 years, 5 months, & 4 days.  She was born Sunday, October 11, 1936 at Elkfork, KY, daughter of Virgil & Elizabeth Gilliam Lewis.

Leona was united in marriage to Edgar Eugene Osborne, this union was blessed with five children, Toni, Fred, Frank, Edgar, & Susan.  She was a retired loan officer at Commercial Bank for 19 years.  She was a Christian, a member of the West Liberty Christian Church, and served on the Morgan County Sorghum Festival Committee for several years.  Leona will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil & Elizabeth Lewis; her husband, Edgar Eugene Osborne; two children, Edgar Lewis Osborne & Susan Carol Osborne; and two sisters, Loretta May and Mae Hammonds.

She is survived by her three children, Toni Auxier (Kenny) of Rockledge, FL, Fred Nelson Lewis Osborne & Frank Ellis Osborne (Vickie Pelfrey Oldfield) all of West Liberty, KY; four grandchildren, Hunter Auxier of Rockledge, FL, Taylor Auxier of Vero Beach, FL, Esther Osborne of Louisville, KY, and Ella Osborne of Villa Hills, KY; daughter-in-law, Sallie Osborne of Villa Hills, KY; one sister, Henrietta Lewis May of West Liberty, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Hunter Fraley officiating.  Burial to follow in the Salyer Cemetery, West Liberty, KY.  Visitation from 11 a.m. -1 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers:  Greg Russell, Leon Heaton, Cole Cassidy, Jon Reynolds, Howard Elam, and Josh May.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Hunter Auxier & Taylor Auxier.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Morgan County Animal Shelter.
