Darrell Wayne Brown

Darrell Wayne Brown of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY, at the age of 72 years, 7 months, & 18 days.  He was born Thursday, August 9, 1951 at Jefferson Township, OH, son of Earl Junior & Eliza Jane Hartsock Brown.

Darrell was a retired Millwright worker and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his country in 1970.  He also attended Clear Creek Baptist Church.  Darrell will be remembered as a loving brother and uncle, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Eliza Brown; two sisters, Bonnie Prather & Linda Brown; and one brother, Larry David Brown.

He is survived by three sisters, Donna Dees (Lloyd) of Mt. Vernon, KY, Mary Williams (Tom) of Brooker, FL, and Carol Bowman (Larry) of Berea, KY; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. James Kelley officiating.  Burial to follow in the Brown Cemetery, Hwy 3333, Magoffin County, KY.  Visitation from 12 p.m. -1 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers:  Steven Colwell, Halek Payne, Heath Payne, Tyler Hacker, E.J. Brown, and Daniel Marcum.
