Raymond Rowlett of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Westminster Village North, Indianapolis, IN, at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 26 days. He was born on Friday, March 1, 1929, at Page, KY, a son of the late Dexter Marvin & Millie (Brooks) Rowlett.

Raymond was united in marriage to Laura Jean Pursifull. This union was blessed with a son, Brooks. Raymond was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. As long as his health permitted, he was a faithful member of the West Liberty First Baptist Church since 1972. He served as the song leader, music director, and secretary. He was a member of the West Liberty Lions Club and served as President from 1979 – 1980. He retired from Morgan County ARH as the Hospital Administrator serving from 1972 – 1994.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Rowlett on August 23, 1996.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Brooks & Melody Rowlett of Indianapolis, IN; one grandson, Alan Rowlett of Richmond, VA; one sister, Juanita Parrott of Middlesboro, KY; a sister-in-law, Bessie Davis of Romulus, MI; two step grandchildren, Nathan Fish of Lynn, IN & Daniel & Grace Selsor of Arlington, WA; three step great grandchildren, Loralei, Morrigan, & Seanus; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Becky Cook, whom took it upon herself to adopt him as a grandfather.

Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. David Cook officiating. Visitation from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday at the Potter Funeral Home. He will be taken to Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, KY for visitation on Monday, July 2, 2012 at 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Greenhills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY.
