Rella Gay Ferguson Phillips of Middletown, OH formerly of Cannel City, KY, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at her residence at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 18 days. She was born on Saturday November 29, 1930, at Cannel City, KY, a daughter of the late Corbett and Nannie Bell Peyton Ferguson.

She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother whom devoted her life to care for her family and home.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sons, Jeffrey Kyle, Charles Lynn and David John Phillips, four brothers, Revis Ferguson, Gerald Ferguson, Corbett Junior Ferguson, Catron Ferguson, and three sisters, Coletta Ferguson, Wanda Nell Ferguson and Helen Miller.

Survivors include her five children, William Scott Phillips, Cheryl Ann & Albert Harig, Mark Dion Phillips, Jamie Dean Phillips all of Middletown, OH, and Christopher Barton Phillips and wife Martha of Clarksville, OH, seven grandchildren,David Harig, Shawn Harig, Jason Veetch, Brent Phillips, Cassie Clemons, Ethan Harig, Ashleey Fragale; eight great grandchildren; five sisters, Karlene Gibson, Kingsport, TN, Faye Deck, Northern, KY, Ovadene Gibson, Dearpark, OH, Joyce Dalton, Caney, KY and Betty Adams, West Liberty, KY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Potter Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Gevedon, officiating. Burial to follow in the Grassy Lick Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation at 11:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
