Ray Terrell

U.S. Veteran

Ray Terrell of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester, KY, at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 25 days. He was born on Thursday, November 2, 1933, at Cannel City, KY, a son of the late Lee Corbitt & Bernice Smith Terrell.

Ray was united in marriage to Loretta Chaney. This union was blessed with two sons, Brent & Freddie. He worked as a lineman. Ray was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Salem Church and a member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge # 655.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe & Irene Terrell, Victor & Ivis Terrell, and Corbitt Terrell, Jr.; and two sisters, Lyda & Delbert McKenzie and Vivian Ruth & Richard Jackson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Loretta Terrell; two sons, Dr. Brent Terrell & wife Melanie of Lexington, KY and Dr. Freddie Terrell & wife Lisa of Winchester, KY; five grandchildren, Colby Lane Terrell, Megan Chaney Terrell Corey Parker Terrell all of Winchester, KY & Wyatt Mason Terrell & Cole Corbitt Terrell both of Lexington, KY; one brother, Scott & Sue Terrell of West Liberty, KY; seven nephews and six nieces; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Collins officiating. Burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery. Visitation at 6 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Masonic Services conducted at 7 p.m., Saturday by Greenville Masonic Lodge #655.

Pallbearers: Jason Gevedon, Nathan Keaton, Arwieda "Moe" Chaney, Terry Stacy, Wesley Penix, Elzia Phipps, Matthew Clark, Leroy Phipps, and Brent Weddington.

Honorary Pallbearers: Darrell Chaney, Gerald Chaney, Hager Arnett, Jr., Ricky Chaney, Stephen Terrell, Ronnie Terrell, Chris Terrell, David Jackson, and Douglas Jackson.
