Obituary for Carl Edward Fannin

Carl Edward Fannin of Elkfork, KY, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his residence, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 20 days. He was born Friday, March 8, 1929, at Elkfork, KY, son of the late Vernal & Lula Trimble Fannin.

Carl was in united in marriage to his first wife, Arlie Adkins. This union was blessed with three children, Judy, Norma, and Don. After Arlie’s passing, he later married Betty Nealis. This union was blessed with three children, Tammy, Donna, and Jamie. Carl was a carpenter by trade. He was a Christian and a member of the Straight Creek Enterprise Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great & great-great grandfather. He will be missed by all his family and his many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Arlie Adkins Fannin and one grandson, Tracy Edward Fannin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Nealis Fannin; four daughters and two sons, Judy & Danny Fannin of Morehead, KY, Norma & Gary Prince, Tammy & Tim Conley, Donna Bailey & David Easterling all of Elkfork, KY, Don Fannin of Morehead, KY, & Jamie & Novella Fannin of Elkfork, KY; five granddaughters & eleven grandsons, Jade Fannin, Heather Fannin, Brittany Endicott, Tara Walker, Ashley Delawder, Neal Fannin, Chris Adkins, Michael Adkins, Nathaniel Lumpkins, Curtis Bailey, Chase Fannin, Kyle Fannin, Nick Conley, Brandon Conley, Bryan Prince, and Ryan Easterling; a host of great & great-great grandchildren; and his beloved Dusty.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeff Adkins and Bro. Joe Gamble officiating. Burial to follow in the Aut Stevens Cemetery, Elkfork, KY. Visitation after 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Funeral Home.
