Obituary for James Clinton Rutledge

James Clinton Rutledge of Point Blank, TX, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Port Lavaca, TX, at the age of 54 years, 2 months, and 11 days. He was born Sunday, August 9, 1964, at Memphis, TN, son of the late James Clinton & Pauline Jacobs Rutledge.

He was in marriage to Barbara Renea Phipps. He was an Iron Worker Supervisor. He will be deeply missed by all his family, friends and Brothers of the Hook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Pauline Rutledge; and his grandparents-in-law, Roy & Ruby Phipps and Thaddeus C. Hatton.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Renea Phipps Rutledge; three step children, Pamela & Nathan Sands of Oliver Springs, TN, Eric England of TX, and Grace England of Port Lavaca, TX; his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Elza & Pam Phipps of Grassy Creek, KY; grandmother-in-law, Louise Hatton of West Liberty, KY; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Jennifer & Harkless Smith of Grassy Creek, KY; two nieces, Kenzily Smith & Aubriella Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends & co-workers.

Funeral service 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Collins officiating. Burial to follow in the Salem Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation after 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2018 at the Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: Howard Lee Morgan, Koby Mahoney, Gary Allen Trudeau, II, William Satterfield, Harkless Ray Smith, and Michael Stigall.
