Obituary for Oedith Wright

Oedith Williams Wright of Cannel City, KY, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 4 days. She was born Tuesday, June 6, 1944, at Williams Creek, KY, daughter of the late Fred & Maudie Helton Williams.

Oedith was united in marriage to Ben Samuel Wright. This union was blessed with three children, Jacqueline, Ben Samuel, Jr., and Kevin. She worked as an adult educator and was a Christian and attended Faith Baptist Church at Caney, KY. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Emma Williams; her husband, Ben Samuel Wright; and five brothers, Dennie Williams, Mearle Williams, Hughie Williams, Dewey Williams, and Harold Clyde Williams.

She is survived by her three children, Jacqueline & Anthony Lykins of Cannel City, KY, Ben Samuel Wright, Jr. & wife, Jennifer of Jones, MI, and Kevin Wright of Elkhart, IN; four grandchildren, Shane Anthony & Casandra Lykins, Austin & Chloe Wright, Ben Samuel “Little Ben” Wright, III, and Brennan Wayne Wright; four great grandchildren, Link Lykins, Calease Lykins, Arabella Wright & Carter Wright; three step grandchildren, Cassandra Simons, Amber Simons, and Derek & Jessica Simons; two brothers, Johnny Williams of Piqua, OH and Scotty & Carolyn Williams of West Liberty, KY; and one half-brother, Junior & Wanda Hamilton of West Liberty, KY.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Ray Fallen, Bro. George Oney, and Bro. Danny Price officiating. Burial to follow in the Samuel Wright Cemetery, Hwy 1260, West Liberty, KY. Visitation after 6 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home.
