Obituary for George Wallace Litteral
George Wallace Litteral, age 88 of Cannel City, passed away August 28, 2018. He was born October 4, 1929 in White Oak, Morgan County, KY to his late parents, Sam & Bertie Lee (Helton) Litteral. George was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Bach on April 11, 1953. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2000. In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, James Timothy & Katie Litteral; brothers, Charles W. “Tiny” Litteral and Gerald R. Litteral; and sister, Lena R. (Litteral) Griffitts.
He is survived by his two daughters, Pamela (Steve) Vance and Teresa (Edward “Benny”) King; six grandchildren, Lynn (Jeff Baker) Haney, Chris (Kandy) Haney, Megan (Mike) Crowe, Ann Keeton, Alex (Hailey) Vance, Nykia (Mike Smith) King; twelve great-grandchildren, Brittany (Aaron) Crum, Gavin Haney, Robbie Robbins, Karlee Crowe, Jenna Haney, Reuben Crowe, Mikie Wayne Crowe, Dalton Watts-Vance, Landon Potter, McKenna Jo Haney, Lincoln Vance, and Sawyer Timothy Keeton; two great-great grandchildren, Cameron Crum and Everleigh Georgia Smith; brothers and sisters, Richard “Dickie” Litteral, Phyllis (James) Brooks, Robert “Bobby” Litteral, Helen (Mike) Wells; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bach and Dorothy Bach; and brother-in-law, Richard (Pam) Bach.
George was saved and baptized at the Lacy Creek Church of Christ and later moved his membership to Faith Baptist Church at Caney, KY. George was a US Army Veteran, serving his country for 6 years during the Korean War. He also worked as a heavy equipment mechanic until his retirement. He will be dearly missed by everyone that was a part of his life in any way.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Elder Jimmy Adkins, Bro. George Oney, & Bro. Todd Litteral officiating. Burial to follow at the Lacy Creek Church of Christ Cemetery, Lacy Creek, KY. Visitation after 6 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at the funeral home.
