Obituary for Joe Marshall Benton

Joe Marshall Benton of Maysville, KY, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Bourbon Community Hospital, Paris, KY, at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 28 days. He was born Thursday, August 4, 1938, at Hazard, KY, son of the late Henry & Maxine Hackney Benton.

Joe was united in marriage to Reva Brewer, this union was blessed with three children, Joe, Richard, and Ella. Joe was a retired truck driver and was a loving father, grandfather, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Reva Benton; one sister, Almadean Bates; and two brothers, Dewey Benton and Clell Benton.

He is survived by his three children, Joe & Caroletta Benton of Mt. Sterling, KY, Richard & Cynthia Benton of Morehead, KY, and Ella & Bob Fredrickson of Maysville, KY; six grandchildren, Derrick Benton, Jason Benton, Craig Benton, Corey Cantrell, Erin Cantrell, and Kamryn Fredrickson; one sister, Hilda & Russell Hill of North Middletown, KY; and four brothers, Clifton & Virginia Benton, Paris, KY, Charles Benton of Millersburg, KY, Jimmy Benton, & Tommy Benton both of West Liberty, KY.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial to follow in the Phipps Family Cemetery, Caskey Fork Road, Hazel Green, KY. Visitation from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018.
