Obituary for Laura Jean Lewis

Laura Jean Lewis of West Liberty, KY, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 15 days. She was born Thursday, June 18, 1936, at West Liberty, KY, daughter of the late Edgar & Bertie Morris Wells.

Laura Jean was united in marriage to John Lewis. This union was blessed with two daughters, Renee & Kim. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She was a Christian and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis; one daughter, Renee Pieratt; and one sister, Nadine Click.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Harris of West Liberty, KY; one granddaughter, Amanda Caudill & husband Chad; one great grandson, Cayden Caudill; one son-in-law, Rick Pieratt of West Liberty, KY; two sisters, Joyce Wells of Dayton, OH and Reva & Joseph Parrott of Winter Park, FL; and one brother, Eddie Wells of Dayton, OH.

Funeral service 2 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Bro. Hunter Fraley officiating. Burial to follow in the Wells Hill Cemetery, Wells Hill Lane, West Liberty, KY. Visitation from 12 noon - 2 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: Rick Pieratt, Chad Caudill, Jerry Trusty, George Weddington, Ronnie Lewis, and Ronnie McGuire.
