Obituary for Jenalee Blair Whitaker

Jenalee Blair Whitaker of Grayson, KY, formerly of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at Grayson Nursing & Rehab Center, Grayson, KY, at the age of 86 years, 2 months, and 7 days. She was born Saturday, January 16, 1932, at Morehead, KY, daughter of the late David & Gladys McKenzie Blair.

Jenalee was united in marriage to Charles D. Whitaker. This union was blessed with three children, Scott, Marla Jan, and Carla. She was a retired elementary school teacher, retiring after 43 years of service, teaching many years for the Morgan County School System. Jenalee attended the Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, sister, and aunt, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Whitaker; one sister, Juanita Blair; two special aunts, Mabel Amyx & Stella Coffey; and two sisters-in-law, Miriam Whitaker & Betty Whitaker.

She is survived by her three children, Scott Whitaker & Brenda of Grayson, KY, Marla Jan Whitaker & Mark Leach of Louisville, KY, and Carla Whitaker of Grayson, KY; one step son, Mike Whitaker & Susie of Zanesville, OH; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Jeri Fultz of Morehead, KY; one brother, Glennis Blair & Kathy of Dayton, OH; one brother-in-law, Jim Whitaker of Richmond, KY; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Funeral service 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Byron Fultz officiating. Burial to follow at the DeBorde Cemetery, Malone, KY. Visitation 12 -2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home.
