Obituary for Darrell King

Darrell D. King of Grassy Creek, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 75 years, 4 months, and 14 days. He was born Wednesday, October 28, 1942, at Pleasant Run, KY, son of the late John & George Ann Watkins King.

Darrell was united in marriage to Ima Jean Eldridge on October 13, 1962, this union was blessed with one son, Jeffrey Darrell. He was a retired auto mechanic for McGuire Ford for 39 years. Darrell was a Christian and a member of the Pekin Pentecostal Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twelve brothers & sisters, Raleigh King, Chavis King, Lillie Litteral, Judy Wilder, Irene Fraley, Betty Henley, Malverie McIntosh, Corsey King, Lois Jean King, Alta Marie King, William Denzil King, and Donald Gray King.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ima Jean King; one son & daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Darrell & Rebecca King of Hazel Green, KY; one grandson, Zachary Taylor King & wife Taylor of Texas; one granddaughter, Brittany Carol Whisman & husband, Jeffrey of West Liberty, KY; and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Eugene Haney, Rev. Harold Keeton, and Rev. Greg Chaney officiating. Burial to follow at the Wilson – King Family Cemetery, Hwy 705, Buskirk, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home.

Pallbearers: Brock Litteral, Greg Chaney, Jeffrey Whisman, Kevin Jones, Timmy Wilder, Scott Wilder, and Paul Jarvis.
