Obituary for Betty Hopkins Jenkins

Betty Louise Hopkins Jenkins of West Liberty, KY, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 6 days. She was born Sunday, April 4, 1937, at Rockhouse, KY, daughter of the late Armel & Polly Kennard Hopkins.

Betty was united in marriage to Oshel Jenkins, this union was blessed with four children, Gregory, Jeffrey, Joy, and Tony. Betty was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She also worked part time for the Morgan County Board of Education. She was a Christian and a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oshel Jenkins; and three brothers, Larry Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, and William “Bill” Hopkins.

She is survived by four children, Gregory Jenkins of Salyersville, KY, Jeffrey Jenkins of West Liberty, KY, Joy & Joe Dunn of Campton, KY, and Tony & Margaret Jenkins of West Liberty, KY; five grandchildren, Jessica Dunn Howard, Blake Jenkins, Danielle Jenkins Hammons, Jacey Dunn Spencer, and Lane Jenkins; eight great grandchildren, Jaden Howard, Jacelyn Spencer, Jaya Howard, Rylan Jenkins, Henry Hammons, Knox Jenkins, Jenna Spencer, and Khloe Hammons; two sisters, Vanessa & Jerry Elam and Carolyn Elam all of West Liberty, KY; three brothers, Lowell & Doris Hopkins of Middletown, OH, Scott & Patsy Hopkins of West Liberty, KY, and Kenneth Hopkins of Lexington, KY; and one uncle, Paul Hopkins of Norman, OK.

Funeral service 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home, with Rev. Paul Balch & Elder Jimmy Adkins officiating. Burial to follow at the Brown Cemetery, Hwy 364, Rockhouse, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home.
