Obituary for Naomi Howard
Naomi Peyton Havens Howard of Mize, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at her residence, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 26 days. She was born Tuesday, June 26, 1934 in Greer, KY, daughter of the late Mitchell & Roxie Elam Peyton.
Naomi was united in marriage to her first husband, Glen Edward Havens. This union was blessed with three children, Michael Glen, Ralph Edward, and Naomi Mae. Later she married her second husband, George F. Howard, Sr. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to care for her family and her home. She also worked as a factory worker & caregiver. She was a Christian and attended Old Grassy Church and Crossroads Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glen Edward Havens, her second husband, George F. Howard, Sr.; and six brothers &two sisters, Norma Peyton Greer, Elmo Peyton, Albert Peyton, Erkel Peyton, Sarah Peyton Doyle, Joe Lenville Peyton, Franklin D. Peyton, and James Leon Peyton.
She is survived by three children, Michael Glen Havens & Debi Horton, Ralph Edward Havens, and Naomi Mae “Ginger” Havens Lykins & husband, Kenny all of Mize, KY; four grandchildren, Charity Michelle Havens Benton & husband, Josh, Michael Lincoln Havens, Benjamin Clay Lykins, and Adam Kendall Lykins; four great grandchildren, Ezekiel Lane Benton, Madelyn Grace Benton, Savannah Michelle Havens, and Lincoln Cash Havens; two step children, George F. Howard, Jr. & wife, Marion and Mike Howard; one brother & three sisters, Mitchell Monroe Peyton of Louisville, KY, Bonnie Peyton Allison of Cordova, TN (her special caregiver), Deloris Peyton Day of Alamosa, CO, and Mary Virginia Peyton Kean of Houston, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Risner officiating and singers are Michelle LeMaster Jenkins, Mark Peyton, Mike Havens & Debi Horton. Burial in the Glen Havens Family Cemetery, Hooten Hollow Road, Mize, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2017 at funeral home.
