Obituary for Edgar Eugene Osborne

Edgar Eugene Osborne of West Liberty, KY, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at his residence, at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 23 days. He was born Wednesday, February 20, 1929 in Stacy Fork, KY, son of the late Sam & Clella Stacy Osborne.

Eugene was united in marriage to Leona Lewis. This union was blessed with five children, Toni Jean, Fred Nelson Lewis, Frank Ellis, Susan Carol, and Edgar Lewis. Eugene was a retired Switchboard Operator for Bell South. He attended Paintsville Methodist Church, was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War, and was a Mason. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Susan Carol Osborne & Edgar Lewis Osborne; two brothers & one sister, Fred Osborne, Winston Osborne, and Vivian Elam.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Lewis Osborne; three children, Toni Jean & Kenneth Auxier, Fred Nelson Lewis & Sallie Beam Osborne, and Frank Ellis Osborne; four grandchildren, Hunter Auxier, Taylor Auxier, Esther Osborne, and Ella Osborne; one sister, Joyce Osborne Long; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral 1 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Hunter Fraley officiating. Burial in the Phipps Cemetery, Cannel City, KY. Visitation 12 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at funeral home.

Pallbearers: David Wayne Nickell, David Osborne, Kenneth Auxier, Taylor Auxier, Hunter Auxier, and David Earl May.
