Obituary for Lee Wayne Williams

Lee Wayne Williams of Louisville, KY, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017, at his residence, at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 1 day. He was born Saturday, January 9, 1937 at Frenchburg, KY, son of the late Algen Hobert & Opal Blair Williams. Hoby awaited Opal and his baby boy Lee, with a box and heated rock to place baby Lee in for the sled ride home.

Lee attended Morgan County High School and graduated in 1955. He attended the last class reunion in 2015 where he was very happy to see all of his classmates.

Lee was united in marriage to Delores Wilson. This union was blessed with two daughters, Vickie Lee & Lisa Ann. He was a great husband and father, friend and neighbor, and a very hard worker. He retired from GE after 38 ½ years and was also a mason for over 50 years.

In addition to his parents, Hoby & Opal Williams, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ronald, who died at birth; and son-in-law, William Wojasinski.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Delores Williams; two daughters, Vickie Lee Wojasinski of Lexington, KY & Lisa Ann & Tony Cowles, of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Erin, Anthony, and Jessica; one great grandson, Jayden; two brothers, Russell Williams & Donald Williams; one sister, Katherine Riddle; and one niece & two nephews, Opal, Marvin, and Donnie.

Funeral service 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Potter Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Haney officiating. Burial to follow in the Rudd Cemetery, Grassy Creek, KY. Visitation from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017.

Pallbearers: Anthony Cowles, Tony Cowles, Marvin Riddle, Joe Black, Lonnie Francis Cowles, and Lonnie William Cowles.
