Obituary for Mary Alice Lawson

Mary Lawson of West Liberty, KY, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Morehead, KY, at the age of 87 years, 6 months, and 1 day. She was born Sunday, December 22, 1929 at Wheelright, KY, daughter of the late Collie C. & Dorothy Ward Wells.

Mary was united in marriage to Lenzie Lawson, and this union was blessed with five children, Jerry, Kenny, Terry, Brenda, and Barry. She was a retired Headstart Teacher’s Assistant. She was a Christian and attended the Tarr Ridge Church of God. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and leaves behind many family, friends, and brother’s and sister’s in Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lenzie Lawson and one grandson, Christopher Lawson.

Mary is survived by her five children, Jerry & Sharon Lawson of West Liberty, KY, Kenny Lawson of Mt. Sterling, KY, Terry & Peggy Lawson of Wellington, KY, Brenda Lyons of West Liberty, KY, and Barry & Jeannie Lawson of Hazel Green, KY; nine grandchildren, Brad Lawson, Landon Lawson, Stephanie Crouch, Linda Tucker, Lana McCoy, Terry Lawson, Jr., Jason Lawson, Alisha Anderson, and Paul Lyons, II; sixteen great grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Nellaveen Montgomery, Cathleen Morris, and Edna Goodwin.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Potter Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Flannery & Bro. Craig Tucker officiating. Burial to follow in the Whites Branch Cemetery, Whites Branch Road, Korea, KY. Visitation 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Tommy Little, Timmy Little, Tim “Cobb” Smith, Joe Moore, Mike Denniston, and Jeff Adams.
